Illustration 1. The 6V4910 Clamp-On Ammeter.... The jaws of the ammeter open with a lever so the conductor can be inserted. These spring loaded jaws close around the conductor to measure the current.
... A trigger switch will turn the ammeter on. The switch can be locked. When the turn-on trigger is released, you will be able to read the last measurement for five seconds.
... The ammeter can be removed from the wire and the measurement can still be read. This feature is important in limited access areas where the display is hard to see.
