Information:
UPS flywheel bearings must be changed due to wear and vibration. The bearings must be changed as per the guidelines in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8859, "Maintenance" section or sooner if needed. Indications of bearing wear that necessitate bearing change are listed below:

Read and understand all safety and hazard-related information before the following procedure is attempted. The information is found in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8859.Note: Bearing service is always performed on both the upper and lower bearings.Note: Always change the lower bearing first.All input to the flywheel cabinet must be shut down before changing the bearings. The customer load will be unprotected.
If the flywheel is not at zero RPM already, brake the flywheel. Use the "Control-X" function in UPSView to stop the flywheel.
Rotate the key switch on the flywheel cabinet to the Bypass position.
The UPS must be shut down before any work is done to the cabinet. Follow the appropriate shutdown/bypass procedure for the system configuration.
Discharge the DC bus. Let the DC bus discharge to a level that is below 24 VDC.
Open the doors of the cabinet by using a hex key on the upper and lower latches.
Discharge the capacitors. Allow the capacitor banks in the UPS to discharge for 5 minutes.
After rotor has stopped, record the upper bearing force and temperatures of the field coil, upper
