In order to avoid lower cylinder liner damage refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR8261, "Cylinder Liner - Install". Apply a steady force and slowly press in the cylinder liner. The seal could be forced out of the groove or the seal could be damaged if the cylinder liner is installed too quickly.
