SHAFT-PLANETARY 6P3733 - Caterpillar

Use this procedure in order to troubleshoot a low intake manifold air pressure. Also use this procedure if the following engine event is active. Access the engine monitoring system on Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) in order to view the current trip points for these codes. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Engine Monitoring Parameters" for information about engine events.

Air Inlet Restrictions
Check for restrictions in the air inlet system. Refer to the Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting manual for information on inspecting the air inlet system.Air Intake System Piping
Look for the following problems in the lines between the turbocharger compressor and the intake manifold:
Piping that is damaged
Loose clamps
Cracked fittingsRepair any problems. Replace parts, if necessary.Fuel System
Incorrect fuel flow to the engine can cause low intake manifold air pressure. Test the fuel system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel System Pressure - Test" for details.
