Introduction
The 7T6337 Speed Sensor is a direct replacement for the 6T2156 Sensor. The new Sensor is self-adjusting. The self-adjusting feature eliminates manufacturing tolerances required to hold a critical sensor-to-gear tooth air gap.Reference: Service Manual and Parts Book.Installation Procedure
1. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the old sensor from the transmission.2. Install a new 3K0360 O-ring on the sensor (not supplied with sensor).3. Pry out the nose piece on the new sensor with a small screwdriver. There are slots provided on three sides of the nose piece for the screwdriver. The nose piece should extend approximately 6.35 mm (.25 inch) from the threads.4. Install the new sensor onto the transmission. Tighten the sensor to a torque of 20 to 27 N m (15 to 20 lb ft).5. As the sensor is tightened, the nose piece will contact the gear teeth and move back into the sensor body. The nose piece is at the correct air gap and no other adjustments are required.6. Install the electrical connector and secure with locking wire.
