1. Do not try to swing the upper structure while the bucket is in the ground. Slowly lower the bucket to the ground to avoid excessive or sudden load to the machine.2. Slowly and gradually activate the control levers when starting or stopping any operations to avoid sudden or excessive load to the machine. 3. When the LONG REACH FRONT is used for digging operation; Insert the stick support pin into the hole of location "B". Location "A" is used only when transporting the machine. The description in paragraphs 4 and 5 is for the 51 ft LONG REACH FRONT machine.4. The overload relief valves used for LONG REACH FRONT version are set to open at 190 kgf/cm2 (2699 psi) for bucket cylinder EXTENSION, at 190 kgf/cm2 (2699 psi) for bucket cylinder RETRACTION and at 250 kgf/cm2 (3551 psi) for stick cylinder EXTENSION, respectively. Do not raise the pressure beyond the specifications.5. If this machine is used for other than LONG REACH FRONT version, follow the procedure below. Change the counterweight with the standard one.When holding the standard counterweight to the swing frame, put LOCTITE on the threads of bolts (2) and tighten them to a torque of 1600 160 N m (1155 115 lb ft).Weight list of counterweights
Properly adjust the overload relief valves so that the valves are open at 325 15 kgf/cm2 (4616 213 psi) for bucket cylinder EXTENSION (1) and RETRACTION (2) and stick cylinder EXTENSION (3). For this adjustment, please consult your Caterpillar dealer.
