Some sites with C175 Machine Engines have experienced water and dirt entry into the 70-pin ECM connector. If moisture is trapped in the connector, it can cause pin and socket corrosion. Pin-70 is on the bottom of the connector and contains the keyswitch power signal for the engine. If this pin corrodes or loses connection, the engine may shut off.Solution
Care should be taken when pressure washing or cleaning this area of the engine to make sure that water does not enter the connector.Note: Evaluate the condition of the pins and sockets if the connectors are removed for any reason.

Disconnect ECM connector (1) and (2) from the ECM.

Find the location of Pin-70 (3) for the keyswitch power.

Check Pin-70 for corrosion. If corrosion is found, then repair as necessary. Report any occurrences of pin corrosion or ECM power loss through the Dealer Solutions Network (DSN).
