Start By:
Remove the starting motor.

Remove bolts (1). Remove cover (2).

Mark the position of the flywheel assembly on the crankshaft.
Attach a suitable lifting device to flywheel assembly (5). The weight of flywheel assembly (5) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
Remove bolts (6). Remove flywheel assembly (5). Note: Do not use and impact wrench to remove bolts (6).

Inspect ring gear (7) and flywheel (8) for wear or damage. If the ring gear or the flywheel is worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
To remove ring gear (7) from flywheel (8), place the flywheel on a suitable support. Use a hammer and a punch to remove the ring gear from the flywheel.
