Remove the parking brake control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Control Valve (Parking) - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Remove boot (2) from valve body (1).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove plugs (3), springs (5), and balls (6) from valve body (1).
Remove O-ring seals (4) from plugs (3).

Remove retainer (9) and spring (7) from valve body (1).
Remove O-ring seal (8) from retainer (9).

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (10) from valve body (1).

Remove spacer (11) and seal (12) from valve body (1).
Remove spool (15) and spool (13).
Remove O-ring seal (14) from spool (13).

Remove backup rings (16) and O-ring seals (17) from spool (15).
