Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Front view (1) Transmission Oil Drain PlugNote: Allow the oil to cool before you work on the transmission system.Note: Transmission oil drain plug (1) is located on the bottom of the transmission.
Remove oil drain plug (1). Allow the transmission oil to drain into a suitable container. Fill the Transmission System with Oil
Clean drain plug (1). Install the drain plug.

Remove transmission oil filler cap (2) provided by the OEM Manufacturer.

Add the correct type of transmission oil. Add transmission oil until the transmission oil level is between the ADD and FULL marks of the oil level sight gauge (3) .ReferenceSee Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the correct type of transmission oil.Note: Because the oil is cold, the oil level may take several minutes to stabilize in the oil level sight gauge.See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure for checking the oil level.
