777B, 785 TrucksDescription of Change: Improved turbochargers are used on the 3500 family of engines used in the above machines. A list of the improvements follows. 1. Stronger bearing housings are used. The stronger housings are made from ductile iron. They will withstand higher temperatures than the former bearing housings.2. The turbine housings are made from a material that will withstand higher temperatures.3. The compressor wheel is made from a stronger material.4. A stronger clamp is used to fasten the turbine housing to the center housing.Adaptable As: The new 9Y1489 Basic Turbocharger Group is a direct replacement for the former 7W9082 Basic Turbocharger Group on the 3508 Engine in D11N Tractors, 776B Tractors, and 777B Trucks. The former 7W9082 Basic Turbocharger Group is canceled. The new 9Y1489 Basic Turbocharger Group is in effect with D11N Tractors 74Z367, 776B Tractors 6JC67, and 777B Trucks 4YC470. The new basic turbocharger group includes a new 7C6367 Cartridge Group. The new 9Y1490 Basic Turbocharger Group is a direct replacement for the former 7W2151 Basic Turbocharger Group on the 3512 Engine in 785 Trucks. The former 7W2151 Basic Turbocharger Group is canceled. The new 9Y1490 Basic Turbocharger Group is in effect with 785 Truck 8GB283. The new basic turbocharger group includes a new 9Y1494 Cartridge Group.
