Information:
Parking Brake Control (Switch) (26) - Move the parking brake switch to the OFF position in order to release the parking brake. Move parking brake switch (19) to the ON position in order to engage the parking brake. Parking Brake Reset Valve (27) (If Equipped)
The parking brake reset valve is effective with the following models:
777D Off-Highway Truck (AGC991-UP)
776D Tractor (AFS81-UP)
777D HAA Off-Highway Truck (AGY81-UP)Parking Brake Reset Valve (27) - When the air system is drained, the parking brake reset valve will not allow the parking brake to release until you have reset the valve. Press down the button on the parking brake reset valve in order to reset the valve.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Braking".Service Brake (28)
Do not use the front wheel brakes for retarding on long steep downgrades.Overheating may occur, causing reduced service life of the brake components.
During normal operation, depress service brake control (pedal) (28) to stop, or slow the machine. The pedal is fully variable. The amount of braking force depends on the position of the pedal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Braking".Secondary Brake (29)
Note: If service brake pedal (28) does not stop the machine, use secondary brake control (pedal) (29) to stop the machine. The secondary brake pedal (29) applies all four wheel brakes. The pedal is fully variable. The amount of braking will depend on the position of the pedal.
If the action alarm sounds, check the brake air pressure gauge on the dash for system air pressure. If the service brake pedal (28) does not stop the machine, use secondary brake pedal (28) to stop the machine.
To avoid the possibility of a unexpected machine movement when parking on a slope, always block the wheels securely before leaving the machine unattended. If the secondary brake system is required in order to stop the machine, do not operate the machine until a complete check has been made of the entire braking system and until all necessary repairs have been made.
When the machine stops, engage the parking brake. Release secondary brake pedal (29) . Allow the machine to build up air pressure . If the air pressure fails to build up, immediately report the problem to the appropriate service personnel.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Braking".Hoist Control (30 - 34)
The body must be lowered and in the FLOAT position when operating the machine. This will help prevent damage to the body, caused by vibrations from the haul road.
Hoist Control Lever (30) - Use the hoist control lever to raise or lower the dump body of off-highway trucks. Use the hoist control lever to open and close the doors of pulled units that are towed by tractors.
