With the key start switch in the ON position, 24 V power is supplied via circuit breaker CB1 (8) to Power Train ECM (1) and Engine ECM (2). 24 V power is supplied via circuit breaker CB22 (9) to the Instrument Cluster.Transmission output speed sensor (5), primary speed/timing sensor (6), and secondary speed/timing sensor (7) are magnetic pick-ups. An electrical pulse is generated whenever gear teeth interrupt the magnetic field. This signal is then sent to the relative ECM.With the machine moving, transmission output speed sensor (5) generates a signal that is sent to Power Train ECM (1). The machine ground speed is determined by Power Train ECM (1) and sent to the instrument cluster via the CAN Data Link. Speedometer (4) will display the ground speed.While the engine is running, primary speed/timing sensor (6) and secondary speed/timing sensor (7) generate a signal that is sent to Engine ECM (2). Engine ECM (2) determines the engine rpm. Engine ECM (2) sends a signal via the CAN Data Link to the instrument cluster via the CAN Data Link. Tachometer (3) will display the engine speed in rpm.
