With the engine running, this machine spot turns when the steering wheel is turned, even with the transmission in NEUTRAL and the parking brake engaged or the service brake engaged.To avoid personal injury due to unexpected machine movement, make sure the area is free of personnel before starting the engine.DO NOT STEER when starting the engine. If machine does not steer, stop the engine.
Engine Starting Above 0°C (32°F)
1. Adjust seat fore/aft lever to allow full operation of clutch and brake pedal. If fore/aft isolation is used, make sure clutch and brake can be fully applied in the farthest aft position. Do not move the seat so far forward so as to impede access in and out of the operator's compartment. 2. Move the transmission control lever into NEUTRAL. 3. Engage the parking brake. 4. Move the implement control levers to the HOLD position. 5. Place the governor control lever in the LOW IDLE position.6. Depress the inching clutch pedal.7. Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position.8. Turn the engine start switch key to START. The warning lamps light to indicate the presence of any burned out lamps. Release the switch key when the engine starts.Engine Starting Below 0°C (32°F)
1. Follow Steps 1 through 6 for Engine Starting Above 0°C (+32°F).2. Turn the engine start switch key to START.
Inject starting aid (ether), only while cranking the engine.Use sparingly. Excessive ether can cause piston and ring damage.Wait approximately two seconds before injecting again.Use ether for cold starting purposes only.After every 30 seconds of engine cranking, allow two minutes for starting motor to cool before cranking again.Turbocharger damage can result, if the engine speed (rpm) is not kept low until the engine oil light/gauge verifies the oil pressure is sufficient.
3. Push the starting aid (ether) switch and release.4. Operate the starting aid switch every two seconds while cranking the engine. Continue use until the engine starts.5. Release the start switch key when the engine starts.For starting below -9°C (+15°F), the use of the engine block heater may be required.
