Permit only one operator on the machine. Either keep other personnel away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator.
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move the machine away from any machines that are working and any personnel.
Lower all implements to the ground. Put the blade in the FLOAT position.
If equipped, place the blade cushion in the ON position. Place the lift cylinders in the FLOAT position.
Activate the parking brake.
Install the wheel lean locking bolt in the front axle. For additional information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEPD7880, "120M and 12M Motor Graders", "Wheel Lean Locking Bolt".
Install the steering frame lock. For additional information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEPD7880, "120M and 12M Motor Graders", "Steering Frame Lock".
Stop the engine.

Unplug the headlights (2) .
Remove four bolts (3), four washers (4), and the two clips that are on the harnesses from the machine. Save all of the hardware.
Remove two brackets (6) and headlight bar (5) from the machine. Save all of the parts.

Remove 13 bolts (8) and washers (9) that hold cover (7) to the machine. Using a suitable lifting device, remove the cover from the machine. The approximate weight of the cover is 29 kg (64 lb). Save all of the parts.

Remove10 bolts (10) and washers (11) that hold cover assembly (12) to the machine. Using a suitable lifting device, remove the cover assembly from the machine. The approximate weight of the cover is 60 kg (132 lb). Save all of the parts.

Remove four bolts (14) and washers (15) that hold former bracket (13) to the machine. Remove the bracket from the machine. The approximate weight of the bracket is 5 kg (11 lb). Save the four bolts and washers.

Using four bolts (14) and washers (15) that were saved in Step 14, install the new bracket (1) to the machine.

Using a suitable lifting device, position cover assembly (12) that was saved in Step 13 on the machine. The approximate weight of the cover is 60 kg (132 lb).
Using 10 bolts (10) and washers (11) that were saved in Step 13, install the cover assembly to the machine.

Using a suitable lifting device, position cover (7) that was saved in Step 12 on the machine. The approximate weight of the cover is 29 kg (64 lb).
Using 13 bolts (8) and washers (9) that were saved in Step 12, install cover (7) to the machine.

Position two brackets (6) and headlight bar (5) on the machine that were saved in Step 11.
Using four bolts (3), washers (4), and the clips that were saved in Step 10, install the brackets and the headlight bar to the machine.
Plug in headlights (2) .
