Information:

1. Lower the bucket to the ground with the stick fully extended and the bucket fully opened. 2. Fasten a hoist to the rod end of the cylinder. Remove bolts (1) and cap (2) from the pin. 3. Start the engine. Operate the boom control lever until there is no force against the rod end pin. Push pin (3) in until the cylinder rod is free. Operate the boom control lever and move the rod into the cylinder. Stop the engine.
If both boom cylinders are to be removed, follow the procedures in Steps 2 and 3 for the other boom cylinder before any oil lines are disconnected.
4. To release oil pressure in the boom cylinder circuit, slowly open screw (4) 1/2 turn until the oil pressure is released. Tighten the screw. Slowly open the screw on the bottom of manifold (5) 1/2 turn until the oil pressure is released. Tighten the screw. 5. Disconnect oil lines (6) and (7) from the cylinder. 6. Fasten a hoist to other end of cylinder. Remove bolt (8) from head end pin. 7. Remove pin with tooling (A). Remove cylinder (9). Weight of the cylinder is 225 kg (500 lb.). The following steps are for the installation of the boom cylinders.8. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder. Put cylinder in position and install the head end pin with the bolt that holds it.9. Connect oil lines (6) and (7) to the cylinder.
If both boom cylinders were removed, follow the procedures in Steps 1 through 2 for the other cylinder before the machine is started.
10. Lift the cylinder until it is in a straight line with the pin in the boom for the rod end. Start the engine. Operate the boom control lever and move the rod out of the cylinder until the bore in the rod is in alignment with the pin in the boom. Push pin (3) back into the bore of the rod.11. Install cap (2) and three bolts (1) on the pin.Disassemble Boom Cylinders
Start By:a. remove boom cylinders 1. Fasten a hoist and put cylinder (1) on tool (A).2. Move the rod out of the cylinder until the rod is fully extended.3. Disconnect oil tube from head of cylinder.4. Remove bolts (2) from the head of cylinder. Move the rod, head and piston away from the cylinder (1). 5. Remove nut (5) from rod (3) with tooling (B).6. Remove piston (4) from rod (3). 7. Remove wear ring (6) and seal assembly (7) from piston. 8. Move cylinder and head together and install two 7/8" - 9 NC bolts (8) eight inches long. Move rod out of head. 9. Install two 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolts in the head. Fasten a hoist and remove head (9). Weight of the head is 29 kg (65 lb.). 10. Remove stop (10) from the head.11. Remove seal (11) from the stop. 12. Remove bolt (12), then remove seals (13) from the head.Assemble Boom Cylinders
1. Install the seals in head. Install center
