The end gates are located at each side of the screed. The end gates form the edge of the mat. The end gates are standard equipment. The end gate is always necessary except when you bleed out material to the side. There are two chains that attach to the bottom of the jacks for the end gate. The chains adjust the floating part of the end gate.Use the following procedure to adjust the chain length to correct the spring tension.
Lower the screed to the ground.
Lower the jacks (1) for the end gate until there is slack in the chains (2) .
Shorten the chain if more spring tension is required. Lengthen the chain if less spring tension is required.
