Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Select the correct Tooling in accordance with the proper application.

Dual Vibration Dampers
Illustration 2 g00609906Note: The later vibration dampers have finned covers. Be careful not to damage the fins.
Remove two bolts (1) that hold vibration damper (2). Install Tooling (B) in the adapter.
Install a suitable lifting device through the center of vibration damper (2). The weight of a narrow vibration damper is approximately 288 kg (639 lb). The weight of a wide vibration damper is approximately 402 kg (886 lb).
Remove the rest of bolts (1) that hold vibration damper (2) to the adapter. Slide the vibration damper along Tooling (B) and remove vibration damper (2). Remove Tooling (B).

Remove the two top bolts that hold adapter (3) and vibration damper (4). Install Tooling (A).
Remove the rest of the bolts and remove adapter (3).

Move vibration damper (4) onto Tooling (A) until a suitable lifting device can be placed through the center of vibration damper (4).
Install a suitable lifting device through the center of vibration damper (4). The weight of a narrow vibration damper is approximately 288 kg (639 lb). The weight of a wide vibration damper is approximately 402 kg (882 lb). Remove vibration damper (4).

Remove spacer (5). Note: For information on rebuilding vibration dampers, refer to Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8152, "Procedures to Rebuild Vibration Dampers for 3600 Family of Engines".
