(1) Breather hose (2) Set screws (3) Breather cover (4) Vent hole (5) Diaphragm (6) Spring (7) Breather portNote: Keep the area around vent hole (4) clean. Do not restrict the vent hole.
Remove four set screws (2). Remove breather cover (3) .
Remove diaphragm (5) and spring (6) .
Clean breather port (7), breather hose (1), and vent hole (4) .
Install spring (6) and diaphragm (5) in breather port (7). If necessary, install a new spring (6) and a new diaphragm (5) .
Install breather cover (3) and four set screws (2) .Turbocharged Engines

Ensure that the components of the breather assembly are installed in the correct positions. If not installed correctly, engine damage can result.
Note: Keep the area around vent hole (3) clean. Do not restrict the vent hole.
Loosen hose clamps (1) and (5). Remove the hoses from the breather assembly.
Pull the valve assembly (2) out of the housing (4). Discard the valve assembly (2) .
Remove the hoses and the housing (4). Thoroughly clean the hoses and the housing. Ensure that the hoses and the housing are dry.
Install the hoses and the housing (4). Install a new valve assembly (2) into the housing (4) .
Connect the hose to the valve assembly (2). Tighten hose clamps (1) and (5). Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Specifications".Breather Deflector

(6) Hose adapter (7) Breather deflector (8) Square face of the breather deflector (9) O-ringThe breather deflector (7) is installed on turbocharged 3034 engines. The breather deflector (7) should be cleaned on alternate service intervals for the engine crankcase breather.
Remove the breather deflector. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Breather Deflector - Remove and Install".
Clean the breather deflector (7) and the hose adapter (6) with soap and water. Ensure that the components are dry before reassembly.
Install a new O-ring (9) on the hose adapter (6) .
Install the breather deflector (7). Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Breather Deflector - Remove and Install".
