Removal Procedure

Remove bolts (1) and the washers from right side door (2) .
Open right side door (2) .

Loosen bolt (3) that holds alternator (5) to bracket (4) .

Loosen bolt (7) that holds alternator (5) to the mounting bracket.
Position alternator (5) toward the engine in order to release the tension on V-belts (6) .
Remove V-belts (6) from alternator drive pulley (8) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (9) from alternator (5) .
Remove bolt (3) and the washers from bracket (4) .
Remove bolt (7), the nut, and the washers from alternator (5) and the mounting bracket.
Remove alternator (5) from the mounting bracket.
Use a suitable puller in order to remove alternator drive pulley (8) from alternator (5) .Installation Procedure

Install alternator drive pulley (8) to alternator (5) .
Tighten the nut that holds alternator drive pulley (8) to alternator (5) to a torque of 102 7 N m (75 5 lb ft).
Position alternator (5) to the mounting bracket.
Install bolt (7), the nut, and the washer in order to secure alternator (5) to the mounting bracket.
Install V-belts (6) onto alternator drive pulley (8) .

Install bolt (3) and the washer in order to hold the alternator (5) to bracket (4) .
Adjust the belt tension. Refer to Operations and Maintenance Manual, "Alternator and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Connect harness assemblies (9) to the alternator (5) .

Close right side door (2) .
Install bolts (1) and the washers.
