Depth Adjustment
The depth of tillage is controlled by the ratchet jacks. The gauge wheels have a mechanical linkage that will repeat the depth setting precisely.Use the procedure below to adjust the depth of the sweeps:
Lower the implement and fully retract the lift cylinders. The adjustment is difficult when the gauge wheels are supporting the implement. Make sure that the gauge wheels are not supporting weight of the implement.

Depth gauge for the ratchet jackNote: An initial setting of 612.775 mm (24.125 inch) should be approximately 63.50 mm (2.5 inch) inches of depth.
Use the adjusting wrench to loosen jam nut (7) on ratchet jacks (8) .Reference: Refer to illustration 3 for the storage location of the wrench.
Adjust each ratchet jack to the desired depth.Note: The marks on the decal equal 1 inch of depth adjustment. 2 and 1/4 revolutions of the ratchet is equal to 1 inch of depth adjustment.
Tighten jam nut (7) and replace the adjusting wrench in the storage location.Setting the Depth Gauges
After all the sections have been leveled and operated at a consistent depth, the depth gauges should be adjusted. There are two depth gauges.

Depth gauge for the ratchet jackDepth gauge (9) has six marks that are equal to 1 inch. The Letter (A) is used to reference 0 inches of depth and the letter (F) is used to reference 5 inches of depth.
The implement should be level and the implement should operate at a consistent depth before you adjust depth gauge (10). If necessary, level the implement.
Lower the implement and fully retract the lift cylinders.
Operate the field cultivator for a short distance. Do not raise the implement. Stop the engine and set the parking brake.
Measure the depth of the sweeps on the center section, and measure the depth of the sweeps on each wing.
Loosen bolt (10) and bolt (11) .
Rotate gauge (9) until the gauge registers the depth of the sweeps. Tighten bolt (10) and bolt (11) .Adjusting the large depth gauge on the center section

Depth gauge for the large center sectionThe large depth gauge that is on the center section can be viewed from the tractor cab. The gauge will indicate the depth of the sweeps on the field cultivator. This gauge is not used to adjust the depth.
Lower the implement and fully retract the lift cylinders.

Measure the depth of the sweeps.
Loosen jam nut (13) and adjust bolt (12) that supports the gauge so that gauge (13) registers the depth of the sweeps.Adjustment for the Spring on the Gauge Wheel
