All Wheel Steer Axle Sensor Calibration
Calibration of the "All Wheel Steer Axle Position sensor" is required if the following occurs:
A new "All Wheel Steer Axle Position sensor" is installed on the machine.
A new "steering cylinder" is installed on the machine.See Illustrations 1 and 2 for the position sensor locations on the machine.

Illustration 2 g03369205
(2) Position sensor mounted on front axleThe calibration procedure is as follows:
Ensure access to the machined flat section of the steer cylinder.
Place the machine on a hard level surface. Engage the parking brake. Raise the rear or front wheels and support the axle on stands. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Axle - Remove", and, "Drive and Steering Axle (Front) - Remove".

Steering axle cylinder shaft
Start the engine and turn the steering until the wheels are straight. Equal lengths of steering axle cylinder shaft should show on each end of the axle steering cylinders. See Illustration 3. Stop the engine.
With the sensor removed, turn the machine key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.

The North pole of the magnet positioned on top of "All Wheel Steer Axle Position sensor"
Place the new sensor on the machined flat top of the steering cylinder. Next, place the North pole side of a magnet on the top of the sensor. See Illustration 4. Note: The magnet is included in the 441-7295 Sensor Kit. Other small magnets will work if the North pole end is used.

(3) Sensor harness connector (4) North pole side of the magnet (5) Sensor LED
While holding the magnet in place, apply power to the sensor by reconnecting the sensor harness (key start switch is still ON). The LED, located on the harness end of the sensor, will light solid. See Illustration 5
Remove the North pole side of the magnet from the vicinity of the sensor, the LED will go out. Do not move the sensor.
Place the North pole side of the magnet on top of the sensor again and quickly remove the magnet. The LED will flash rapidly. This flashing indicates that calibration mode is in progress. Ensure that the magnet is moved away from the sensor so as not to interfere with the calibration.
The sensor LED will flash rapidly for 15 seconds while in "Calibration Mode". During this time slide the sensor from left to right several times across the flat section on the top of the cylinder, so that the sensor can detect the piston in the cylinder. The peak signal detected by the sensor will set the center point for the cylinder.Note: The rapid flashing of the LED will stop after 15 seconds and the calibration is then fixed.
