Information:
6. Install washer (8) and retainer ring (9) that hold the cage and gear together. 7. Put the cage and gear (2) in position in the torque converter updrive housing. Clean threads with Locquic Primer and apply 155- 0695 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of bolts (10) prior to assembly. Install four bolts (10) through the access holes in gear (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 50 7 N*m (37 5 lb ft). 8. Heat bearing cone (11) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F) and install it on gear (12).9. Install spacer (13) on gear (12) as shown. 10. Install bearing cup (15) and spacer (14) in adapter (16). 11. Install bearing cup (17) in adapter (16).12. Install O-ring seal (18) on adapter (16). 13. Install two 3/8 inch - 16 NC guide bolts (19) in the torque converter updrive housing as shown.14. Put gear assembly (12) in position in the torque converter updrive housing.
Typical Example15. Install the adapter on the torque converter updrive housing. Install lock (22) and nut (23) on the gear. Use tooling (B) to tighten nut (23) to a torque of 220 15 N*m (160 10 lb ft).18. Bend the tab on lock (22) in the notch (slot) on nut (23) as shown. 19. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (24) and install it in the torque converter updrive housing as shown. 20. Put torque converter assembly (25) on Tooling (F) in an upright position as shown. 21. Put 1P-0808 General Purpose Grease on Oring seals (26) and (27) and install them on the carrier of the torque converter assembly.22. Install two 3/8 inch - 16 NC guide bolts (19) in the torque converter carrier as shown. 23. Fasten Tooling (D) and a suitable hoist to torque converter updrive housing assembly (28) and install the housing on the torque converter. The weight of the housing assembly is approximately 187 kg (412 lb). 24. Install gasket (29). 25. Install ring (30) 26. Install retainer (31) in the torque converter updrive housing. Apply 155-0695 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of bolts (32) prior to assembly. Install eight bolts (32) and tighten the bolts to a torque of 50 7 N*m (37 5 lb ft).27. 28. Install three lubrication orifices (34), two in the torque converter updrive housing and one in cover assembly (35).29. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (36) and install it in cover assembly (35) as shown. 30.
