3. Make sure two O-ring seals (3) are in position on the transmission oil filter base. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the two O-ring seals. Install transmission oil filter base (2) on the transmission.4. Install housing (1) in transmission oil filter base (2). Tighten the housing until it is against the bottom of the transmission oil filter base.Disassemble Transmission Oil Filter Base (Later)
START BY:a) remove transmission oil filter base
Snap ring (1) and retainer (2) hold a spring in compression. To prevent personal injury, hold retainer (2) in place when snap ring (1) is removed.
1. Use tool (A) to remove snap ring (1) from the housing. Remove retainer (2) and the spring behind the retainer.Transmission Oil Filter Base (Later)
2. Remove three seals (3) from the transmission oil filter base. 3. Remove plug (7) from the transmission oil filter base. Remove O-ring seal (6) from plug (7).4. Remove spool (5) and spring (4) from the transmission oil filter base.Assemble Transmission Oil Filter Base (Later)
1. Put clean SAE 30 oil on spring (1), spool (2) and O-ring seal (3).2. Install spring (1) and spool (2) in the transmission oil filter base. Install O-ring seal (3) on plug (4). Install plug (4) in the transmission oil filter base. 3. Install spring (5) and retainer (6) in the housing. Use tool (A) to install the snap ring that holds the spring and retainer in the housing. 4. Put clean SAE 30 oil on three seals (7).
