3. Disconnect wiring harness (1) from front oil pan (2). 4. Support the oil pan. Remove bolts (3), front oil pan (2) and rear oil pan (4) together. The weight of the front and rear oil pan is 66 kg (145 lb). 5. Remove bolts (5) and separate rear oil pan (4) from front oil pan (2). The weight of the rear oil pan is 11 kg (24 lb). The weight of the front oil pan is 55 kg (121 lb). The following steps are for installation of the front and rear oil pans.
Check the condition of all O-ring seals and gaskets and replace with new if needed. Apply 3S6252 Silicone Sealant to all contact surfaces of gaskets and gasket joints when reassembling.
6. Position a new gasket between rear oil pan (4) and front oil pan (2). Install bolts (5) and assemble the two pans together on the floor. Trim the new gasket flush with the top surface of the oil pans.7. Apply 3S6252 Silicone Sealant to the engine block where the flywheel housing and the front drive cover meet. Put a new gasket in position on the engine block and apply 3S6252 Silicone Sealant to each gasket joint.8. Install the front and rear oil pan in the reverse order of removal. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).9. Connect the hose to the oil change connector.10. Fill the engine with oil. See the Operation and maintenance Manual for the current filling procedure.
