Personal injury or death can result from machine movement.When tests and adjustments are made to the transmission or the torque converter, the parking brake must be disengaged.To prevent movement of the machine and personal injury perform the procedure that follows.
Place the boom in the raised position.
Retract the counterweight.
Put blocks in front of the tracks and behind the tracks.
Allow only approved personnel on the machine. Keep all other personnel off the machine and in clear view of the operator.
When testing must be done in a closed area, activate the service brakes when the parking brake cannot be used. When possible, activate the service brakes while you perform tests.Note: All tests and adjustments must be made with the power train system oil at normal operating temperature. Be sure that the linkage adjustments are correct before the tests are made.
