(5) Hammer valve M300C excavators can be equipped with a hammer valve instead of the control valve (combined function). Hammer valve (5) provides one-way flow for a hydraulic hammer attachment. Return flow from the hammer goes directly back to the tank. This prevents the possibility of back pressure which could damage the hammer.Pilot oil is blocked from hammer valve (5) unless solenoid valve (1) for enabling the hammer is energized. The Machine ECM energizes solenoid valve (1) whenever the hammer is selected as the active tool with the monitor or ET.

(1) Solenoid valve for enabling the hammer (2) Shut off ball valves (3) Line relief valve (4) Flow control spoolThe hammer valve is activated when pilot oil from the attachment pilot valve shifts the control spool upward. This allows pump supply oil to flow through flow control spool (4) to the main control spool. Flow control spool (4) regulates flow to the main control spool in order to maintain the desired flow rate.If the hammer is the only circuit that is activated or the hammer is the circuit with the highest load requirements, some of the flow that crosses the control spool becomes signal oil. The rest of the flow is directed across the control spool through line relief valve (3) and shutoff ball valves (2) to the hammer.Line relief valve (3) limits the maximum pressure to the hammer. The line relief valve should be set according to the hammer manufacturer's recommendations.
