Cut one end of the inner dust seal at an angle of 90 degrees. Use a blunt tool to install the inner dust seal in the seal groove of the swing gear and bearing. Position the lip of the seal toward the bearing, as shown.
Measure the inner dust seal and cut the remaining end of the inner dust seal at an angle of 90 degrees. Install the remaining end of the inner dust seal in the seal groove.
Make sure that the inner dust seal is correctly seated in the seal groove. Make sure that there is not a gap between the ends of the inner dust seal.
Pull both ends of the inner dust seal out of the seal groove approximately 50.8 mm (2.00 inch). Apply Tooling (B) to the cut ends of the inner dust seal. Bond both ends together. Immediately install the inner dust seal into the seal groove of the swing gear and bearing.
Make sure that the inner dust seal is correctly seated in the seal groove. Make sure that there is not a gap between the ends of the inner dust seal.
Ensure that the lip of the inner dust seal does not adhere to the top of the bearing at the seal joint during bonding and install.
Repeat the Steps to install the outer dust seal. Refer to Illustration 2 for the correct seal orientation in the swing gear and bearing.
Lubricate the swing gear and bearing with Tooling (C).
Note: Thoroughly clean the mating surface of the swing gear and bearing and the undercarriage frame. Apply Tooling (D) to both surfaces.

Position the "S" that is on the inner race, as shown.

Apply Tooling (E) to the dowel hole.
End By:
Connect the upper frame to the undercarriage.
