SHIM 2547856 - Caterpillar

1. Disconnect line (6) from block (1) to allow for slack in the belts when they are removed.2. Remove bolt (2), belt (3) and tilt alternator (5) out of the way.3. Use the bar on belt tightener (4) to release the pressure on three belts (7).4. Remove belts (7).
Belt tightener (4) is under heavy spring tension. Release slowly and carefully.
5. Remove bolts (8) and crankshaft pulley (9).
When bolts (11) are removed, vibration damper (10) and adapter (12) are free to fall.
6. Remove bolts (11), vibration damper (10) and adapter (12). For installation of the crankshaft pulley and vibration damper, reverse the procedures of Steps 1 through 12.
