Start By:
Remove the wheel (front wheel).
Remove the wheel lean bar.
Release the system pressure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure. Drain the hydraulic oil.

Disconnect hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (2). Remove clips (3). Disconnect hose assembly (4) and fitting (5) .

Remove clips (6). Disconnect fitting (7) and hose assembly (8) .

Disconnect harness assembly (9). Disconnect harness assembly (10). Remove clips (11) .

Attach two suitable lifting devices onto front axle (12). The weight of front axle (12) is approximately 907 kg (2000 lb).

Remove bolts (13), lock (14), pin assembly (15), and washers (16) .

Remove Tooling (A). Remove front axle (12) and position front axle (12) onto suitable cribbing.

Remove lip seals (17). Remove bearings (18) .Installation Procedure
Install front axle (12) in the reverse order of removal.

Use Tooling (B) to install bearings (18). Install bearings (18) to Dimension (A). Dimension (A) is 7.2 0.5 mm (0.28 0.02 inch).
Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).
