Removal Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove guard (1). Loosen nuts (2).
Remove harness assemblies (4), (5), and (6). Remove belt (7) from the alternator pulley. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, " Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".
Remove bolts (3) and (9). Remove alternator (8).
Repeat Steps 1 and 3 for the remaining alternator. Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Position alternator (8). Install bolts (9) and (3).
Install belt (7) to the alternator pulley. Install harness assemblies (6), (5), and (4).
Tighten nuts (2). Turn the power disconnect switch to the ON position. Install guard (1).
Repeat Steps 1 and 4 for the remaining alternator.
