Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Steering Frame Lock - Seperate and Connect".
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , " Hydraulic System Pressure - Release". Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all harness assemblies, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Depress the brake pedal repeatedly. This will release any pressure in the brake system.

Use two people in order to remove panel assembly (1). The weight of panel assembly (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

Disconnect tube assemblies (3). Remove fittings (4) and bolts (2).

Remove bolts (5).

Attach a suitable lifting device to accumulator assemblies (6). The weight of accumulator assemblies (6) is approximately 56 kg (125 lb). Remove accumulator assemblies (6).
