Information:


The hydraulic system is under pressure. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are disconnected. Also make sure the bulldozer blade is level and on the guard before the lift cylinder is removed.
1. Fasten a hoist to the lift cylinder as shown. 2. Remove the bolts and retainer (2) to remove pin (1) from the trunnion in the cylinder rod.3. Retract the cylinder rod and lower the lift cylinder against the front axle housing. Remove the hoist from the lift cylinder. 4. Disconnect two oil hoses (3) from the manifold on the end of the lift cylinder. 5. Remove oil tube (4) from the lift cylinder. 6. Fasten a hoist to lift cylinder (5) and remove four bolts (6) and nuts that hold the cylinder to the yoke assembly.7. Remove lift cylinder (5) from the machine. The weight of cylinder (5) is 122 kg (270 lb.). 8. Remove retainers (7) from the lift cylinder trunnion. 9. Remove bearings (8) from the retainers. 10. If necessary, remove bearings (9) from the lift cylinder trunnion. 11. Remove shield (10) from over the manifold. 12. Remove manifold (11) from the end of the lift cylinder.Install Lift Cylinder
1. If necessary, make a replacement of the O-ring seal on manifold (1). Install manifold (1) with the bolts to hold it on the end of the lift cylinder. 2. Install shield (2) over the manifold. 3. If necessary, heat bearings (3) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F) and install bearings (3) on the lift cylinder trunnion and make sure the bearings do not extend past the ends of the trunnion. 4. Install bearings (4) in retainer (5) with a press and tool group (A). Make sure the bearings are in the center of the retainer bores. 5. Install retainers (6) on the lift cylinder trunnion. 6. Fasten a hoist to lift cylinder (7) and put it in position on the yoke assembly. Install the bolts and nuts to hold the lift cylinder to the yoke assembly. Tighten the bolts and nuts to a minimum of 650 N m (480 lb.ft.). 7. Install oil tube (8) on the lift cylinder. 8. Connect two oil hoses (9) to the manifold on the end of the lift cylinder. 9. Fasten a hoist to the lift cylinder and lift the cylinder to the position shown. 10. Extend the cylinder rod and put it in position on the bulldozer blade.11. Install pin (10) through the trunnion in the cylinder rod. Install retainer (11) with the bolts to hold pin (10) in position.Disassemble Lift Cylinder
