This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all harness assemblies for installation purposes.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to transmission (1). The weight of transmission (1) is approximately 340 kg (750 lb). Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to position transmission (1) to Tooling (B) .

Remove bolts (2), cover (3), and O-ring seal (4). Remove the screen and magnetic filter (5) from control manifold (7) .
If necessary, remove filter assembly (6) and the O-ring seal. Use Tooling (C) in order to remove filter assembly (6) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (10) .
Remove bolts (8) and bolts (9). Remove control manifold (7) .
