2) Remove 7X-0405 Bolts. See Image 1.2.1. (Note: The 248-6727 Arrangement will have (12) Bolts and the 248-6690 Arrangement will have (8) Bolts.)

3) Remove 7X-0379 Bolts. See Image 1.3.1 (Note: The 248-6727 Arrangement will have (6) Bolts and the 248-6690 Arrangement will have (8) Bolts.)

4) Remove Counterweight Cover Plates. See Image 1.4.1 (Note: The 248-6727 Arrangement will have (4) plates and the 248-6690 Arrangement will have (3) plate.)

5) Remove Counterweights. See Image 1.5.1 (Note: The 248-6727 Arrangement will have (3) plates and the 248-6690 Arrangement will have (4) plates.)

6) Remove any dirt and/or debris from the Counterweight Assembly (Frame).
7) Inspect threaded bolt holes for cleanliness and thread quality. Rework as required. Use Image 1.7.1 to identify the locations of threaded bolt holes A, B, C. The threaded bolt holes at locations A, B, and C must be checked for the 248-6727 Counterweight Arrangement. The threaded bolt holes at locations A and C must be checked for the 248-6690 Counterweight Arrangement.

8) Install applicable existing and new parts per the following steps in Special Instruction REHS3313:
If the machine has the 3 Slab Counterweight Arrangement (248-6727), Refer to the ASSEMBLY OF THE COUNTERWEIGHTS section for the 248-6727 Arrangement and follow Steps 1 through 4.
If the machine has the 4 Slab Counterweight Arrangement (248-6690), Refer to the ASSEMBLY OF THE COUNTERWEIGHTS section for the 248-6690 Arrangement and follow Steps 1 through 4.
9) If the machine has a fast fuel adapter, install the remaining parts per Steps 1 through 4 contained in the PARTS FOR THE FAST FUEL ADAPTER section of Special Instruction of REHS3313.
Current hose can be reused. If problems are encountered with hose fit up, refer to Hydraulic Information System (H.I.S.) for the proper parts and hose length to fabricate a new hose.
