Information:

When the ripper tip control lever is moved to the SHANK OUT position, an electrical signal from the ripper control lever is sent to the ECM. The ECM sends an output signal to the ripper tip out solenoid (23) on the pilot manifold. The solenoid opens proportionally to the signal from the ECM. A higher signal opens the solenoid farther and pilot oil is sent through line (1) to the end of the ripper tip valve spool. The ripper tip valve spool shifts and pump pressure is sent to the ripper tip cylinders. When a ripper operation is requested by the machine operator, the implement ECM also sends a signal to the Pressure Control Override Solenoid. This solenoid opens and combined pump pressure is sent to a dump valve in the bulldozer control valve. This dump valve controls relief pressure for the ripper circuit. If the pump pressure reaches the relief valve setting due to a load on the cylinders, the relief valve poppet opens and the pressure on the back side of the dump valve is reduced. The dump valve will then shift in order to maintain the relief pressure setting.Refer to Systems Operation, "Bulldozer Control Valve" for further information on the operation of the dump valve.Ripper LOWER With a Dead Engine and the Starter Key in the ON Position

The oil pressure in accumulator (27) may diminish through normal leakage of the solenoid valves. This will cause the oil pressure in pilot oil line (25) to also diminish. The oil in the rod end of the
