Thoroughly clean the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing. Inspect the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing. Replace all seals and all damaged parts with new parts.
Use two people in order to install the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing. The combined weight of the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing is 108 kg (240 lb).

Attach Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to carrier bearing.
Use Tooling (B) in order to keep the front drive shaft level during installation.
Place the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing into position in the front main frame.

Support front drive shaft (8) with suitable wood blocks, as shown.
Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) .
Position carrier bearing housing (7) in the front main frame.

Install six bolts (6), the washers, and the nuts into carrier bearing housing (7) .

Install four bolts (9), and spider bearing (10). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft).

Place yoke assembly (5) into position on the front drive shaft.
Install bolt (3) and retainer (4). Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft).

Install the clip and nut (1) .
Install tube assembly (2) .End By: Install the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Center) - Remove and Install".
