18     2     Automatic track tension system    The swivel accomplishes two functions. The swivel carries circuit oil from the rotating upper structure to the travel motors in the stationary lower structure. The swivel carries pilot oil from the rotating upper structure to the travel parking brakes and the automatic track tension system in the stationary lower structure. The swivel also provides a path to the tank for the return oil and the case drain oil from the travel motors. The swivel provides a path to the tank for the return pilot oil from the travel parking brakes and the automatic track tension system.The rotor (4) is bolted to the upper structure through the upper frame. Housing (9) is bolted to the lower structure. The ports of housing (9) are open to the ports of rotor (4) through internal passages.Seals (11) are provided between the sliding surfaces of housing (9) and rotor (4) in order to prevent oil leakage between the passages.
