Lift Truck omitted for clarity. (G) Rear Axle Assembly (J) Traction Motor (10) Mounting Bolts (11) Washers
With rear axle assembly (G) supporting the weight of traction motor (J), remove four mounting bolts (10) and washers (11) .

(A) Lift Truck (E) Off-Highway Truck (1) Traction Motor Removal Tool
Remove the tooling.
Slowly back truck (A) and traction motor removal tool (1) away from off-highway truck (E) .
Once clear of off-highway truck (E), lower the tooling (1) close to the ground.
Use lift truck (A) to move the tooling (1) to the desired location.
Refer to the appropriate disassembly and assembly service manual for information on completing the traction motor installation.Maintenance Section

(14) Bearing Block Zerk Fitting
Before each use, grease bearing block Zerk fitting (14) with a good quality NLGI Grade 2 grease such as Cat 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease (14 oz tube).

(6) Bearing Housing (7) Bearing Housing Zerk Fitting (26) Bearing Housing Breather Plug
Annually, grease bearing housing (6) with a good quality NLGI Grade 2 grease such as Cat 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease.
Remove bearing housing breather plug (26). Clean the plug and air dry.
Add grease through bearing housing Zerk fitting (7) just until grease begins to flow from breather plug port.
Reinstall breather plug (26) .Inspection
Inspect prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use until inspected and released for use by an approved inspector at the dealership.

Do not use unless load identification markings and warning decal are legible.
Inspect all welds and check for damaged, bent, or cracked components.
Inspect ratchet strap (21) and other loose components for damage or wear. Replace as necessary.
Do not use if any hardware is damaged or missing.
Have tools inspected annually by an approved inspector at the dealership. Maintain a written record of all inspections.

Cleaning
Clean the tooling using a non-solvent based cleaner.Storage
Store tooling indoors in a clean, dry location to prevent rust or corrosion.
Store the tool on firm level ground to prevent tipping.
Clean and store all loose components in the provided storage box (22) .Tool Disposal
At the end of the operational life of the tool, dismantle the tooling and recycle materials according to all regulations and mandates. Destroy the remaining tooling and dispose of as scrap.Service Parts
