(2) Case drain port (11) Swing motorSwing motor (11) is a fixed displacement bent axis piston motor. Swing motor (11) is operated by oil from the swing piston pump. A change in the direction of oil flow through the swing motor will not change the amount of torque that is available from the shaft of the swing motor. Oil flow can be in either direction. Changing the direction of oil flow changes the direction of rotation of barrel (5), piston (3), retaining plate (1), and output shaft (4). The remainder of the components of the swing motor are fastened or held by housing (9) .Oil from the swing pump directs oil to port (A) or (B). The direction of oil depends on the direction of the swing. Swing pump oil enters head (6) of the swing motor and the oil passes through port plate (7) to barrel (5) .When oil enters the swing motor, the oil flows into either of two sets of slots in port plate (7). Oil flow through the slots in port plate (7) determines the direction of the motor rotation. The oil flows into the piston bores of the barrel that are positioned over the slot in the port plate.Pistons (3) are held in output shaft (4) by retaining plate (1). The barrel rotates about pin (8) which is at a fixed angle to the axis of output shaft (4). The angle between the shaft and the barrel causes the pistons to move due to the oil flow. The piston movement forces the barrel (5) and output shaft (4) to rotate.Oil enters the piston bore of the barrel through the first set of slots in the port plate. The pressurized oil forces pistons (3) out of the cylinders of the barrel. The movement of pistons (3) causes output shaft (4) to turn. As the openings in the cylinder barrel pass over a second set of slots in the port plate, oil is forced by the pistons (3) into the return port. From the return port, the oil flows to the swing crossover relief valve and back to the tank.The case drain oil is oil that has leaked from the sliding surfaces and clearances. Case drain oil provides lubrication for the rotating parts. Case drain oil returns to the hydraulic tank through case drain port (2) and through the case drain lines.The flushing valve group is integrated into port plate (7). Flushing pin (16) is shifted in order to send some of the oil in the low-pressure drive loop to the case of the
