Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Verify that all of the components of the steering pump are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Attach a suitable lifting sling around steering pump (3). Secure the suitable lifting sling to a hoist.
Position steering pump (3) and the O-ring seal to the rear pump drive. The weight of steering pump (3) is 209 kg (460 lb).
Install four bolts (9) and the washers that secure steering pump (3) and the O-ring seal to the rear pump drive.
Connect hose assembly (8) to the hydraulic tank.

Connect hose assembly (7) to the check valve for steering pump (3) .
Connect two hose assemblies (5) and (6) to the brake cooling pump.
Connect hose assembly (4) to the pressure compensator valve. Connect hose assembly (2) to the top of steering pump (3) .
Repeat Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 for the remaining steering pump on the right side of the rear pump drive.

Replace two drain plugs (1). Tighten two drain plugs (1) to a torque of 68 7 N m (50 5 lb ft).
Fill the two hydraulic tanks for the steering and brake system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering and Brake System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure to fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the appropriate oil.
The capacity of the steering and brake hydraulic system is 267 L (70.5 US gal).End By:
Charge the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System - Pressure Release/Charge".
Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
