Several changes have been made to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7899 for certain C18 Commercial Engines. These changes include information in the following areas:
Separate service intervals have been defined for both deep sump and shallow sump oil pans
Both the deep sump and shallow sump oil pans are shown as graphics in the manual for identification purposes
Engine oil recommendations for both Caterpillar and Commercial oils are included in a chart for easy reference
The Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Severe Service Application - Check" has been updated with information of causes for premature wear to the major engine components
The diesel fuel specifications have been updated to reflect the recent update to Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations, SEBU6250
The engine rating application definitions and operating limits have been charted to help the customer ensure reliable and long engine life
The engine storage procedures have been updated for engines that need to be stored for long periods
