This Program must be administered assoon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI30250" as the Partnumber and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim DescriptionCode and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair isdone after failure, use "PI30250" as the Part Number, "7751" as the GroupNumber, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMSDescription Code. The information supplied in this serviceletter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Donot perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the terminationdate without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

Customers will receive a letter describing theproblem. When a customer contacts the CAT dealer, the dealer must contactRobert A. Stoetzer by email (stoetzer_robert_a) with the customer?sname, current engine s/n, and complete dealer shipping address and contactat the dealership. The corresponding new s/n plate, engine informationdecal, and new parts book for a 5YS engine will then be sent to the dealerfor installation on the customer?s engine.Installing the new serial numberplate
Remove the old serial number plate and destroy.
Install new plate with epoxy.
Install new engine information decal in placeof the old decal on the front of the engine.
Customers were initially given engineparts books for non-emissions 3054 6FK prefix engines. New parts booksfor their emissions, 5YS prefix engines are to be delivered along withthe new serial number plate.OWNER NOTIFICATION
