The air system for the 797F controls the following components:
Air start motor
Autolube system
Air hornAir compressor (1) is driven by the engine and air compressor (1) provides air flow to the rest of the air system. Air flows from air compressor (1) to air dryers (4). Air dryers (4) remove contaminants and moisture from the air system.Air then flows from air dryers (4) to switching module (7), pressure protection valve (8), and the two air reservoirs. Air continues to flow from the two air reservoirs to solenoid valve (12) for the air start, solenoid valve (15) for the air horn, solenoid valve (17) for the automatic lubrication, and pressure sensor (13).Pressure sensor (13) sends a signal to the chassis ECM that indicates the air system pressure. As needed, solenoid valve (12) directs air to air start motor (10). As needed, solenoid valve (15) directs air to the air horn. As needed, solenoid valve (17) directs air to the automatic lubrication system.
