Autodig System
Autodig System - The autodig system is designed to perform the operations of a loading cycle of an aggregate mix with minimal effort by the operator. Loading this type of material is repetitive. A high level of skill is required to maintain a consistent level of productivity during such loading cycles. This feature will fully load a bucket at consistent loading times. The following is a brief overview of the basic functions of the system.
System Display
Basic Operation
Additional Settings
Additional Parameters
Additional ConfigurationsSystem Display
Graphical display - The graphical display is the main interface between the operator and the Autodig system. The display is used for the following purposes:
Selecting the trigger mode
Selecting the desired loading setting
Setting the lift kickout
Recording a customized load setting
Illustration 1 g03559799
(1) Automatic Pile Detection Mode - Places the Autodig system into the automatic pile detection mode (2) Operator Triggered Mode - Places the Autodig system into the operator triggered mode. (3) Autodig system standby - Allows the operator to place the Autodig system into standby mode. (4) Dig Effort Setting - Allows the operator to increase or decrease the aggressiveness of the Autodig cycle (5) Record Mode - Initiates the process for recording an operator defined dig routine (Only shown for Dig Effort level 6) (6) Autodig Lift Kickout Set - Allows the operator to set the lift kickout point for completion of the Autodig routine.Basic Operation
The system will automatically control the transmission and work tool controls during the bucket loading operation. Do not touch the neutralizer pedal, directional controls, or bucket control levers during the bucket loading routine until the linkage reaches the kickout setting at the end of the routine. Moving any of these controls will stop the routine.Trigger Selection
The Autodig system will initiate the dig routine either automatically or at the operator's command. To set the desired operation, select the appropriate button on the display. The icon for the selected trigger will remain GREEN.Automatic Pile Detection Mode:
In this mode, the dig routine will automatically begin with the bucket contacts the pile. Operator Triggered Mode:
In this mode, the dig routine will begin only after the trigger switch is pressed.

In this mode, the Autodig system will be disabled. To re-enable, select either Automatic or Operator Triggered modeNote: The Autodig system defaults to the Standby setting at machine startup. The operator must select a triggering mode to begin to Autodig operation.Note: Only 1 trigger setting can be selected at any time; Automatic Detection, Operator Triggered, or Standby.Dig Effort Selection
There are 5 preprogrammed dig effort settings (1-5) that are meant for progressively more difficult bucket loading situations. Each setting is programmed with the appropriate transmission speed for loading various types of material.
To select the desired dig effort, select the (+) or (-) icons to increase or decrease effort setting. While the system is capable of functioning up to third gear, it is recommended to enter the material pile in either first or second gear. The system will automatically downshift the transmission to the proper gear for each aggression
