Right Side of Engine
(1) Generator
(2) Pump drive gearboxGenerator (1) is located in front of the engine (not shown), between the engine and pump drive gearbox (2). The generator and pump drive are an integrated unit but can be serviced separately. The engine drives the generator and the pump drive directly.Generator (1) supplies electrical power to the screed heaters and the accessory power inverter. The generator is monitored and controlled by the generator ECM.

Rear of Engine
(3) Generator lube oil pumpGenerator lube oil pump (3) is on the right side of the engine. This pump is directly driven by the engine. Access is limited to components on the engine.Generator lube oil pump (3) is a gear-type pump. This pump supplies oil to the generator and pump drive gearbox for cooling and lubrication.Generator lube oil pump (3) draws oil from the pump drive sump. A portion of the oil is directed into the pump drive housing to lubricate the drive gear system. The remaining oil is directed through a cooler, a filter, and into the shaft of the generator rotor. This oil is sprayed through holes in the rotor onto the stator and other internal components. The oil is then collected in the sump of the pump drive.

(5) Generator oil filter
(6) S O S tapGenerator oil filter (5) is located inside the pump compartment. The hopper door provides access to this component.Generator oil filter (5) cleans the generator lube oil before the oil is pumped into the generator. S O S tap (6) on the inlet side of the filter allows service personnel to check pressure and to draw oil samples.Breather (4) vents the pump drive to atmospheric pressure. The breather also prevents airborne contaminants from being introduced into the generator oil system.

Generator Oil Filter Base
(7) Generator oil filter bypass switch
(8) Generator oil pressure sensorThe generator oil filter bypass switch (7) and generator oil pressure sensor (8) are installed in the generator oil filter base.The generator oil filter bypass switch (7) alerts the operator when a high differential pressure exists across generator oil filter (5). This switch closes when the differential pressure exceeds 345 37 kPa (50 5 psi). This condition may indicate a clogged filter. This component provides an input signal to the machine ECM.Generator oil pressure sensor (9) measures the hydraulic pressure of the generator oil at the outlet side of the generator oil filter. This sensor provides an input signal to the machine ECM.

(9) Generator oil fill portGenerator oil fill port (9) is located in the hydraulic tank compartment, in front of the right operator station. The compartment door provides access to the port.When required, oil is added through generator oil fill port (9) to maintain proper oil level for the lubrication system.
