Use suitable press and Tooling (B) to install bearing cups (16).

Use Tooling (C) to lubricate bearing cone (15). Install bearing cone (15).

Use Tooling (B) to install seal (14).

Install Tooling (A) onto idler (6), and attach suitable lifting device. The weight of idler (6) is approximately 46 kg (100 lb). Install idler (6) onto shaft assembly (5).

Use Tooling (C) to lubricate bearing cone (13). Install bearing cone (13).
Position a small amount of tooling (D) in the center of shaft assembly (5).
Install end plate (11) and bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in) while rotating idler (6).
Loosen and retighten bolts (9) to a torque of 9 N m (80 lb in) while rotating idler (6).
Remove bolts (9) and end plate (11). Remove Tooling (D).
Use Tooling (E) to measure the thickness of Tooling (D). Record this measurement as dimension X.

Add extra shims to dimension X to achieve the overall thickness of shims (12). Overall thickness of shims (12) must achieve an assembled bearing end play of 0.03 mm (0.001 inch) to 0.13 mm (0.005 inch).
Install shims (12).

Install end plate (11), lock plate (10), and bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 92 N m (68 lb ft). Ensure that assembled bearing end play is between 0.03 mm (0.001 inch) and 0.13 mm (0.005 inch).
Bend lock plate (10) against the flat of bolt (9).

Apply Tooling (F) between plate (8) and idler (6). Install plate (8) and bolts (7).

Attach suitable lifting device to shaft assembly (5). The combined weight of shaft assembly (5) and idler (6) is approximately 67 kg (149 lb). Invert shaft assembly (5) and idler (6) as an assembly.

Install links (1) and pins (4). Install retaining pins (3). Install bolts (2) and the washers.
