Pull cover (7) away from the starting motor.

Remove nut (8) from terminal (9) .
Remove the cables from terminal (9) .

Remove nut (10) that is used to secure cover (11) .
Remove cover (11) .

Remove nut (13) from terminal (14) .
Remove wire (12) from terminal (14) .

Remove the nut that connects wire (15) to the solenoid. The nut is located on the back side of the solenoid.

Note: The starter weighs approximately 27.00 kg (60 lb).
Attach a suitable lifting device to the starting motor. Remove the bolts from the starter.
Remove the starter.Installation Procedure
Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

Note: The starter weighs approximately 27.00 kg (60 lb).
Attach a suitable lifting device to the starting motor.
Install the starting motor.
Install the bolts into the starting motor.

Install wire (15) onto the terminal. The terminal is located on the back side of the solenoid.
Install the nut onto the terminal in order to secure wire (15) .

Install wire (12) onto terminal (14) .
Install nut (13) onto terminal (14) .

Install cover (11) .
Install nut (10) in order to secure cover (11) .

Install the cables onto terminal (9) .
Install nut (8) onto terminal (9) .

Pull cover (7) onto the terminal of the starting motor.

Install the wires and cables onto terminal (6) .
Install nut (5) onto terminal (6) on the starting motor.
