Remove the fan guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Guard - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove bolts (2) and (3). Remove platform assembly (1) .

Disconnect hose assembly (4), fitting (5), and hose (6) .

Remove clips (7). Disconnect hose assemblies (9), fitting (8), and hose (10) .

Remove panel (13). Disconnect harness assembly (14). Remove bolts (15) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to radiator and hydraulic oil cooler assembly (17). The weight of radiator and hydraulic oil cooler (17) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb).
Remove radiator and hydraulic oil cooler (17) .
Place radiator and hydraulic oil cooler assembly (17) on suitable blocks.

Disconnect hose assembly (21) and tube assemblies (19). Remove bolts (20) and separate support assembly (22) from radiator and hydraulic oil cooler (18). The weight of support assembly (22) is approximately 34 kg (74 lb).
