Engine Overspeed settingsAir/Fuel Ratio Control - This configuration changes between "Oxygen feedback" and "No feedback".The "Emissions Feedback" configuration replaces the "Fuel Ratio"."No feedback" is default in a new Electronic Control module (ECM). "Oxygen feedback" enables the air/fuel ratio control's features and diagnostics. "No feedback" disables the air/fuel ratio control's features and diagnostics. Changing between "Oxygen feedback" and "No feedback" requires the engine speed to be zero. The ECM and the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) must be restarted for the change to take affect.Engine Operation Type - This configuration is used to select the type of engine operation between the compressor and generator set applications."Compressor" is default in a new ECM.This feature works directly with the "Rated Engine Speed" configuration parameter. The following applications can be selected: 50 Hz Generator Set, 60 Hz Generator Set and Compressor.While the configuration is set to "Compressor" the engine speed can be changed to any value between 1000 rpm and 1800 rpm."50Hz Generator Set" can only be chosen if rated speed is either 1000 rpm or 1500 rpm. While the configuration is set to "50Hz Generator Set" the rated engine speed can be changed between 1000 rpm and 1500 rpm."60Hz Generator Set" can only be chosen if rated speed is either 1200 rpm or 1800 rpm. While the configuration is set to "60Hz Generator Set" the rated engine speed can be changed between 1200 rpm and 1800 rpm.In order to change the type of application, the engine speed must be at zero. In order to change the engine's rated speed, the engine speed must be at zero.Engine Prelube - This configuration is used for the prelube for the engine before starting and the postlube after the engine is shutdown."Enable" will enable the prelube. "Disable" will disable the prelube. "Disable" is default in a new ECM.Changing between "Enable" and "Disable" requires the engine speed to be zero.The ECM and the Cat ET must be restarted for the change to take affect.Starting System #1 Type - This configuration is used to select the starting system for the engine.The following applications for engine starting can be selected: Air, Electrical and Not Installed.Air is the default in a new ECM.Changing between the applications for engine starting requires the engine speed to be zero. The ECM and the Cat ET must be restarted for the change to take affect.Top engine speed - This cutomer programmable feature monitors the engine speed and it will shutdown the engine if it exceeds a customer programmed value.This feature can be turned on or off by the customer and is available in Programmable Monitoring System. An overspeed shutdown event will show up in case the actual engine speed hits both the top engine speed limit and the overspeed shutdown
